Alina Hooper is a Senior Advisor and former Senior Vice President at 270 Strategies who specializes in campaign design, organization building, and online and offline engagement strategy. While at 270, Alina  supported clients both in the United States and abroad across a wide range of industries and issue areas including voting rights, health care, education advocacy, criminal justice reform, civic engagement, and corporate social responsibility. She has partnered with brand new organizations just getting off the ground, and has helped established groups find new ways to promote and advance their missions. 

During the 2020 election cycle, Alina led a team that worked with local partners to identify, engage, and mobilize voters in key battleground states including Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota. The team developed tailored, custom audiences based on state-specific strategic imperatives, and ran an aggressive paid media campaign using unique creative geared towards lower propensity and persuadable voters. 

Other recent projects include advising a successful presidential re-election campaign in Southeast Asia, engaging and mobilizing voters in support of a ballot initiative to restore voting rights for returning citizens, and partnering with education advocacy organizations in the work to advocate for improved outcomes for public school students. 

In 2016, Alina served as the African American Digital Coalitions Director for the Hillary for America campaign, where she developed digital organizing and outreach programs geared towards maximizing support and turnout among African American voters. She previously held positions with Morrison Cohen LLP in New York, the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University School of Law, the New York City Department of Education, and the United Nations International Civil Service Commission – all after a brief stint as Tom Brokaw’s assistant. Alina’s passion for politics started while volunteering in New Hampshire for President Obama’s 2008 campaign, where she saw firsthand the power of grassroots organizing.

Alina earned her bachelor’s degree in History from Harvard College. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and exploring the Art Institute of Chicago.
